Fluoride Returns to Forsyth City Water

By: Sam Clanton
Posted: Tuesday, November 26, 2013

Forsyth aldermen have changed their minds on removing fluoride from city water, voting last night to follow the recommendation of the Taney County Health Department.

Alderman Jack Baker made the motion…

Jack Baker G465  :21  “… and leave it there”

At last month’s city council meeting, the board voted unanimously to remove fluoride from city water at the request of citizens who voiced concerns over the practice.

Since then the Taney County Health Department Board of Trustees passed a resolution endorsing the addition of fluoride to drinking water as a safe and effective method of preventing tooth decay.

Adding fluoride to the water costs the city about 5-thousand dollars a year.

Mr. Baker and aldermen, let the people that pay water bills in the city vote if they want fluoride in their drinking and bathing water. put a place on their water bill to vote, use that to make your decision. don't let the school or the people out side of Forsyth chose for those of use that live in the city and have to have this poison in their water. they pay for it let them choose. Thanks

Politics trumped science. Modern science indicates that ingesting fluoride does not reduce tooth decay, according to the US Centers for Disease Control. Fluoride absorbs into teeth topically only. Swallowing fluoride only causes adverse side effects. Tooth decay crises are occurring in all fluoridated cities http://www.FluorideNews.Blogspot.com Fluoride is neither a nutrient nor required for healthy teeth. Like all drugs, fluoride has side effects see http://www.FluorideAction.Net/issues/health

I am not sure where you all are getting your information but right on the CDC's website it clearly states that fluoridation is a major factor in reducing tooth decay, along with hundreds of other studies. In addition, the CDC's website clearly states that via peer-reviewed scientific evidence that there is no link between systemic disorders or adverse health effects. Taking that further, they also state that Research findings do not support an association between water fluoridation and negative health effects on plants and animals. --(http://www.cdc.gov/fluoridation/safety/health_effects.htm) Fluoride is a very economical and cost effective public health measure that has scientific evidence that it reduces the DMF Index (Decayed. Missing, Filled) -- (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22998306), (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23488214) Nys Cof-Fluoride is a topical application throughout life, except when ingested while the teeth are still forming. Fluoride does incorporate itself into the lattice structure of the tooth enamel and replace ions, thus making the tooth more resistant to erosion via acids and sugars such as sucrose. Fluoride is also found throughout nature, from natural water sources to organic fruits and vegetables (http://www.inchem.org/documents/ehc/ehc/ehc227.htm#5.0). In conclusion, water fluoridation is a proven cost effective public health measure that has not been associated with systemic diseases or health issues. Fluoridation is supported by major health organizations and enlivenment agencies throughout the developed world and has been listed by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention among the 20th Century's ten great public health achievements. The following website provides insight on the efficacy and effectiveness on fluoride and how it actually works to prevent cavities: (http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/rr5014a1.htm)

Bravo to the city council for reviewing information and dental experts regarding the many benefits of fluoride to promote better dental health!

This may come as a total shock to some, but the government, i.e. Taney County Health Dept. can be and is wrong about certain things, including fluoride. Why do we need the government looking out for our dental health? Do we need the government to mandate health insurance as well? I agree with the comment that Forsyth residents should be able to decide themselves. Hello, fluoride is in toothpaste. And you don't swallow toothpaste.

For further input about the Flouride poisoning of the US here is an excerpt from mercola.com.I wonder how many of the Forsyth board has read any thing on the suggested list or are aware of how many other countries have discontinued the use of flouride in their drinking water?Further Education is needed "I strongly advise you to continue educating yourself about fluoride and to avoid it as much as you can. The Fluoride Action Network is a phenomenal resource for further education, and they’re doing much to pressure the US government for change. Their Statement asking Congress to end water fluoridation in the United States has now been signed by over 2,750 professionals. There are also a number of books on the subject that are well worth reading, including: The Fluoride Deception by Christopher Bryson Health Effects of Ingested Fluoride by Bernard Meyer Wagner Fluoridation: the Great Dilemma by George L. Waldbott Fluoride the Aging Factor : How to Recognize and Avoid the Devastating Effects of Fluoride by Dr. John Yiamouyiannis Scientific Knowledge in Controversy: The Social Dynamics of the Fluoridation Debate by Brian Martin. The Grim Truth About Fluoridation by Robert M. Buck Join the Fight to Get Fluoride Out of Drinking Water There's no doubt about it: Fluoride should not be ingested. Even scientists from the EPA's National Health and Environmental Effects Research Laboratory have classified fluoride as a "chemical having substantial evidence of developmental neurotoxicity.” Furthermore, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 41 percent of American adolescents now have dental fluorosis—unattractive discoloration and mottling of the teeth that indicate overexposure to fluoride. Clearly, children are being overexposed, and their health and development put in jeopardy. Why? At least when it comes to topical application, you have a choice. You can easily buy fluoride-free toothpaste and mouthwash. But you're stuck with whatever your community puts in the water, and it's very difficult to filter out of your water once it's added. Many do not have the resources or the knowledge to do so. The only real solution is to stop the archaic practice of water fluoridation in the first place. Fortunately, the Fluoride Action Network has a game plan to END water fluoridation, both in the United States and Canada. Clean pure water is a prerequisite to optimal health. Industrial chemicals, drugs and other toxic additives really have no place in our water supplies. So, please, support the anti-fluoride movement by making a donation to the Fluoride Action Network today." Thank God for my Flouride free well

Why not add caffeine to the water supply as well in order to help people stay alert? Why not statins to lower cholesterol? Why not pseudoepinephrine to relieve allergies?

Fluoridation is the best investment a city can make for its citizens. Less cavities. More teeth!
Dissapointed!!!!! - 11/27/2013 10:06:10 AM
Can you get too much Fluoride? Yes. So tell me how if it is injected into the water source, how can we be sure we are all getting same dose. We all drink diffrent amounts of water, so say a person who works outside everyday and drinks 5 times more water than the average person does, is he getting five times more fluoride in his system than the average person? Yes! Since when do we need government officials, Health Dept., and Dental professionals, making what should be recommended mandatory!! I am not saying Fluoride doesn't strengthen teeth, but what does it do to your system with overdosing, and long term exposure? I think supporters of Fluoride need to look at some of the other scientific studies that have been done about the side effects of Fluoride. It's real easy to be an expert when you only look at one side!!The citezens of Forsyth should have a vote on wether or not it is injected in their water or not!! I liked the comment about checking the box on the Water Bill. The people will be heard, and no costly election! Talk to your Mayor and Alderman, tell them you want a choice!!

As a former city councilwoman, I was instrumental in investigating my constituents complaints about the harmfulness of water fluoridation. As a result I helped in getting an initiative to the ballot and we successfully voted in a moratorium on Nov 6, '12 to turn off the toxic industrial waste fluoride (HYDROFLUSOLICIC ACID OR HFSA) because our supplier UNIVAR, (formerly Basic Chemical Solutions) would not provide three things: 1.) Toxicological report 2.) Listing of contaminants 3.) Proof that their product was safe for all water consumers, infants to seniors. This absurd practice of adding HFSA is based more on politics than science. Why should a water department be given the power to medicate anyone when they don't take a health history, they don't pass out a listing of side effects or monitor the dose. This is tantamount to gross negligence. Water consumers started to send in their payment UNDER PROTEST so that when the class action lawsuits begin they would be covered.

It's a dead giveaway when you see the term, "Science trumps pseudoscience." For those of you who may not know it yet, there is a tremendous amount of money being spent by the likes of PEW Trusts, the ADA, and many state dental professional agencies to reverse a successful educational trend of the past two decades. People are finally beginning to wake up to the biggest and longest lasting scam in history - that of fluoridation. The increasing number of cities across the country that have actually done the research concerning the science, legality and ethics against the fluoridation of drinking water has actually shocked those agencies into paying advertising pundits and professional propagandists to spread distorted or even flatly false science about fluoride. It's unbelievable that people claiming to be scientists or dentists tell people in the media that hexafluorosilicic acid is a mineral or that it is essential to human health. Most assuredly, it is an accumulative neurotoxin that causes significant long term adverse health conditions. And, when an entire set of aldermen change their minds so rapidly and completely, you can bet your last dollar that someone got in there and played heavy handed politics to change their vote. Ignore the politics. Do your own research - www.FluorideAlert.org

Alderman Baker and other aldermen, let the people that pay water bills in the city vote if they want fluoride in their drinking and bathing water. Print a place on their water bill to vote, use that to make your decision,it''l work. Keep it simple! FACTS ABOUT FLUORIDE- Fluoride is a waste by-product of the fertilizer and aluminum industry and it's also a Part II Poison under the UK Poisons Act 1972. Fluoride is one of the basic ingredients in both PROZAC (FLUoxetene Hydrochloride) and Sarin nerve gas (Isopropyl-Methyl-Phosphoryl FLUoride). USAF Major George R. Jordan testified before Un-American Activity committees of Congress in the 1950's that in his post as U.S.-Soviet liaison officer, the Soviets openly admitted to Using the fluoride in the water supplies in their concentration camps, to make the prisoners stupid, docile, and subservient. The first occurrence of fluoridated drinking water on Earth was found in Germany's Nazi prison camps. The Hitler Gestapo Death Machine had little concern about fluoride's supposed effect on children's teeth; their alleged reason for mass-medicating water with sodium fluoride was to sterilize humans and force the people in their concentration camps into calm submission. The City of Forsyth should let We the People vote on our water monthly bills whether we want poison put in our drinking water.
Is anybody awake out there????? - 11/29/2013 7:51:13 PM
I would imagine that the Forsyth alderman all voted for Obama as well!! The CDC and government go hand in hand! This is all part of a much larger picture of taking this country down and the dumming down of the American people. Apparently, the Forsyth alderman have already been dummed down for believing that floride is a healthy thing to add to the water. Let the people vote!!!!!
