Southern Stone County fire officials say a fire that started early Wednesday morning in a gazebo was extinguished just minutes before it would have affected the inside of a house on Butterfly Lane in Kimberling City.  

Firefighters say the homeowners reported being awakened by the fire in the gazebo on their back deck, and used buckets of water from a hot tub to try to put it out.

The electrical fire was determined to be accidental.
