Branson is a 'Destination on the Rise'
 By: Sally Kaucher Branson is on the list of "15 Destinations on the Rise” according to Trip Advisor. Branson is seventh on the list which is topped by Nashville-Tennessee, Austin-Texas and Fort Myers-Florida. The Trip Advisor travel website says Branson is one of the top U-S cities piquing vacationers’ interest in 2012. I can't find it on the link...what a suprise! Some fly by night website names Branson as a huge destination and we're all supposed to be impressed. I'll believe it when I see dollar signs in the pockets of the locals. Maybe some new acts would help the area out.

Respondents didn't look far enough....... What about the fabulous lakes where one can enjoy just about any type of fresh water sports, fish warm and cold waters, dive, ski, enjoy fresh trout, and
just enjoy the scenery. Speaking of scenery, doesn't get much better for the next several hundred miles. My suggestion to all visitors is to get off the Strip at times and explore the whole area. Wow, what a place.

on the head. I too am tired of the
constant barrage of phoney publicity.
There is more to Branson than the
strip.

Juan, 2 things:
1. The link works just fine, click on it, scroll down to #7 Branson, & click again. Read. So, no problem with the link, OK?
2. The dollars in the pockets of locals will happen when the locals work. Branson doesn't just pass out money to the residents. You cannot just live there, you have to become a part of the community, and as with every other town in the U.S., you work to get what you get. Dallas- Denver - St. Louis doesn't just pass money out to the locals.
I have heard so many locals griping & moaning about how Branson does nothing for the locals & I'm about sick of reading all of the negativity. Go to school, train for a new job & don't eliminate the possibility of moving as it sounds like you don't care for Branson that much. Go down to Arkansas & hide in a holler. Learn how to entertain & start your own show. Gee......

The link works fine for me Juan.... looks like we are #7! Trip Advisor is far from fly-by-night. Trip Advisor was bought by Expedia.com (you've probably heard of them) and is the premiere travel advice site in the world authored exclusively by independent reviews. Congrats Branson, Table Rock and the Ozarks!
