Transfer of Ownership Completed for Factory Merchants Mall

Branson City Hall says all the necessary paperwork is finished, and the transfer of ownership deal, for the Factory Merchants Mall, is now complete.  The real estate closing was supposed to happen Thursday, but was delayed one day to take care of some clerical issues.  Under terms of the agreement approved by the Branson Board of Aldermen late last month, Indianapolis based Simon Property Group agreed to pay the City of Branson 300-thousand dollars to break its long term lease.  The company also agreed to a 6-month management agreement to help current tenants find new locations.  The City has not decided what it’s going to do with the mall, located near Highway 76 and Gretna Road. City leaders have suggested public hearings in the coming weeks to gather input from Branson residents.

Now the wonderful City of Branson now owns two properties that they have no idea what they are going to do with!! If you don't pay the Branson Airport this year, you could buy something else Branson :)

public entities have no business getting into the real estate business. Look at the failing Meadows mall and the Landing. We were better off with the Sammy Lane and the old pool and the 500year old tree and-----------. They were paid for and used and useful Not big ugly and in debt!!!!

How dare you people blast the GREAT AND HOLY CITY OF BRANSON. HAHA This is what you get when you have an entertainer running the city. She is clueless and thinks people will still pay to see these boring, washed up, dead, hillbilly acts and shows in town.
