A St. Louis based air carrier says it wants to fly passengers into Branson from Northeast Arkansas. Air Choice One was recently approved to provide service from St. Louis to Jonesboro, starting next month, with discount tickets being offered for as low as 25-dollars one way.

The Paragould Arkansas Daily Press Newspaper is reporting that Air Choice One has been talking with officials in Branson about future service which could provide air connection from Jonesboro to Branson, as well as from other areas served by the small airline.

An airline spokesman told the newspaper that the company is considering the purchase of larger aircraft in hopes of offering special events packages. Right now Air Choice One uses small Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft, capable of holding up to 9 passengers per flight.

If you believe they can make any money and stay in business at $25. a seat for a ride to Jonesboro, then you will still believe in Santa Claus. Good luck to them, they will need a lot of it.

Let's see, at $25 a seat and their plane holds 9 passengers, that's $225. What are they using for fuel and who did they get to fly their planes for nothing. I would like to see how that works out on paper to show a profit.

How about we let the people that own the airline business worry about their business plan? If they can make it happen, so be it.

They are going to land in the middle of the drag strip?

I'm not complaining, I know what is involved in airplane ownership my friend, and $25. a seat won't fly a piper cub to Jonesboro. This is nutty as anything can be.

Does this mean there will finally be an air connection to St. Louis ? To my limited knowledge there is no current public transportation available from Branson to STL. Ground or air. Only alternative is AirTran (now Southwest) from Branson to Atlanta then someone else to STL. Anyone know ?

To understand how they can do this and make $$ you need to know how the EAS service operates. Trust me this is a very good thing for them and the community of Jonesboro if this happens. They will make money. Nothing wrong with that, and everyone benefits in the long run.

People, they have to let passengers know that they are in business, once you have flown with them you will know they are there. Don't think that the prices won't go up, believe me, they will. Its called an introductory offer my friends.

We just bought us round trip tickets from Jonesboro to St. Louis and from St. Louis to Jonesboro for 367.50 for 7 people now you tell me that they are not making money. :-)
