A suspect questioned by Branson Police after an alleged sexual assault has been released without charges being filed, and its possible the case will be dropped.

A woman walking near Highways 65 and 76 early Monday morning told police she was asked to get into a car driven by the suspect, taken to Hollister and sexually assaulted, before being brought back to Branson and dropped off near her place of employment.   Hollister Police assisted with the joint investigation this week, but couldn’t provide any other details.

The Taney County Prosecutor says he's waiting on the case file and investigation report from police, before making a final decision on whether to file any charges.
