If you sell anything door to door in Branson, you now need to be fingerprinted and be subject to a background check. The Branson Board of Aldermen this week gave final approval to an ordinance allowing City Hall to do the background checks before any peddler can be issued a city license. The same procedures can be performed when the city hires new employees. Some, like girl scouts selling cookies and church youth groups are exempt from the new ordinance, as long as leaders of those organizations provide a letter to the city outlining their purpose for going door to door through city neighborhoods.
