UPDATE: Arjes to Start Taney County Business Development Job January 23

The new Director of Business Development for Taney County will start his job January 23rd.  As first reported Wednesday on HometownDailyNews.com, Branson businessman Jonas Arjes accepted the leadership position for the recently organized Taney County Business Development Partnership.  The partnership includes a current financial commitment from the Branson Chamber,Taney County, Kirbyville and Merriam Woods, with officials saying other towns and private businesses will hopefully be added to the group in the future.  Arjes will report to Branson Chamber C-E-O Ross Summers, who says his first goal will be to get in touch with, what he calls, the all encompassing Taney County Community:

Summers declined to say what Arjes is being paid.  Arjes was scheduled to be the next Chairman of the Board for the Branson Chamber.  Summers said in selecting Arjes for the job, the chamber knew they were losing a great leader, but this is the best decision for the community. In a related note, it was announced Janet Oller with Silver Dollar City will be the new Chairman of the Board for the Branson Chamber in 2012.

Summers declined to say what the position pays.  Financial support of the partnership has been committed by Taney County, Kirbyville, Merriam Woods, and the Branson Chamber.  Officials say they hope to add other governmental entities and businesses in the future.
