A Western Taney County firefighter has died in a traffic accident in Branson. Chief Chris Berndt confirms that 42-year-old Angus Walker was driving his personal vehicle Monday evening on Shepherd of the Hills Expressway when he collided head-on with another car. Chief Berndt says it appears Walker was driving down a fairly straight stretch of Shepherd of the Hills Expressway when he crossed the center line. Berndt says the department’s hearts also go out to the two women in the other car.

Berndt says an autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow. Walker moved to the Branson area just a couple of years ago. Berndt says he had experience with a volunteer fire department in New York, and was just returning to the fire service. Berndt says Walker was driving his personal vehicle when the accident occurred Monday evening on Shepherd of the Hills Expressway near Roark Valley Road.
