Forsyth and Branson Working Together on Fire Training

The four fire departments withinTaney County are now working together with inter-agency training.  Forsyth Mayor Ron Potter thanked the Branson Board of Aldermen for its support of the program, and looks for increased cooperation in the future.

In the past local fire departments paid the University of Missourito train firefighters, and the schedule seemed to be an inconvenience at times.  Potter says the new Firefighter One class being offered is a win-win for all departments and will save each entity money in the long run:

The four fire departments included in the inter-agency training are Forsyth, Branson, WesternTaneyCounty and Central Taney County.

Calling it a win-win situation for everyone involved, Forsyth Mayor Ron Potter is praising the efforts of a new inter-agency training program, that includes all four fire departments within Taney County.

Potter told the Branson Board of Aldermen that in the past, each department paid the University of Missouri to train firefighters, and worked on the university’s schedule.

Now Forsyth, Branson, Western Taney and Central Taney are working together to train their own department members, thus saving money in the long run:

Training is being held in Forsyth with Branson Fire Chief Ted Martin teaching one of the classes in the Firefighter One program. Alderman Rick Todd told Potter this is only a first step, and looks for further collaborative efforts that will benefit both cities.
