According to a report in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, the Ozark Medieval Fortress between Branson and Harrison is closing due to financial issues.
The 13th century style castle opened to visitors in 2010 and 2011 and featured artisans using tools and techniques from 700 years ago to recreate a genuine, full-sized, fortified castle, with towers ranging from 40 to 70 ft in height, a drawbridge, and 6-foot wide stone walls surrounding an expansive inner courtyard, according to their website.
The owner of the tourist attraction told the newspaper that he is looking for investors or possibly a buyer.
