Superintendents Discuss Funding Error

The superintendents of four Taney County school districts will call on the services of a school finance consultant before considering how a 10-year error in tax distribution should be corrected.  A computer programming error in the Collector’s office resulted in tax funds being distributed to the Kirbyville district, negatively impacting Hollister, Branson and Forsyth schools.  The superintendents of all four districts met Tuesday.  Hollister Superintendent Dr. Tim Taylor tells HometownDailyNews.com the first order of business will be to verify the numbers dating back 10 years…

Dr. Taylor says the superintendents hope a meeting with the finance consultant will take place in the next couple of weeks.  The cost is expected to be minimal, but there’s no decision on who will be responsible for that cost.  Dr. Taylor says the superintendents agree that any resolution should occur over the long-term, to avoid negatively impacting any school district.
