Branson is joining a growing list of municipalities signing up to help fund the new Taney County Business Development Partnership.
One of the goals of the partnership is to help bring non-tourism related businesses and jobs to Taney County. The Branson Board of Aldermen gave first round approval to a plan that calls for the city to commit 5-thousand dollars a year for the next 5 years.
City Administrator Dean Kruithof signed off on the proposal.

Other entities helping fund the area wide partnership include The Branson Chamber,Taney County, and the towns of Hollister, Merriam Woods, Kirbyville and Rockaway Beach. Leaders of the Partnership say Forsyth, Taneyville, and Bull Creek Village will be invited to participate, along with several Taney County businesses.
It’s anticipated the Business Development Partnership will name its advisory board in the coming weeks. It’s Director, Branson businessman Jonas Arjes started his job Monday.

The Branson Board of Aldermen last night committed 5-thousand dollars a year to the project for the next five years - joining the likes of the Branson Chamber,Taney County, Hollister, Rockaway Beach, Kirbyville and Merriam Woods.
Branson businessman Jonas Arjes, the newly hired Director of the Business Development Partnership, told board members that one of the goals is to bring non-tourism related jobs to Taney County, but also said work force development is a priority:

Arjes said the Partnership’s Advisory Board could be named in the coming weeks, with Forsyth, Taneyville and Bull Creek Village being invited to join the group, along with several local businesses.
