A Taney County resident will seek the Republican nomination for County Treasurer.

Nathan Easley is a member of the board of directors of the Taney County Regional Sewer District.  Easley says in a release that he has served as a volunteer firefighter and board member for the Bradleyville Rural Fire Department.  He previously served on the board of the Taney County Industrial Development Authority.

Easley is a 1998 graduate of Bradleyville High School.

What are his qualifications to be treasurer? He can fight fires and Develop Industries. These don't seem to be realated to handling money, but he looks well fed.

That's an intelligent, mature observation! It's wise to check that anyone running for an office has the qualifications and experience to run the office. The rude personal comment is unncessary and makes your entire remark unworthy of consideration! Thanks for making Taney County residents as a whole look bad.

To "Another Taney County Resident" - well said. I do agree, what are his qualifications, but it's more can he balance a checkbook and be able to send out the tax bills, then can he handle money. The county treasurer spends money based on what the county commissioners (or county government) tell them to spend. They don't make those decisiions on their own. Good luck Mr. Easley.

Maybe his better qualifications were inadvertently omitted. I would think his past experience as a volunteer firefighter might come in handy since it seems most things tend to "fuel the flames" and become heated around the courthouse.
