Adventure Helicopter Tours May Be Grounded; Business License Revoked

A helicopter tour company in Branson may soon lose its city permit allowing it to fly tourists around town, and across Table Rock Lake, on guided excursions.

The Branson Planning and Zoning Commission is scheduled to take up the revocation of a special use permit for Adventure Helicopter Tours in the 33-hundred block of West Highway 76, at its meeting Tuesday night at City Hall.

The City’s Planning Department says owners of Adventure Helicopter Tours next to the Icon Theatre, and across from Ripley’s on the strip, failed to pay their taxes, so their business license was revoked.  The city says without a business license, there’s no special use permit allowed, thus grounding future flights.

A Planning Department spokesman says City Hall knows of a similar company hoping to open up a helicopter tour business at the same location.  That request will be taken up at a P and Z meeting in March.

A phone call from HometownDailyNews.com to Adventure Helicopter Tours went unanswered.

=====(2nd Version)=====

The Branson Planning and Zoning Commission may ground a Helicopter Tour Company when it meets Tuesday night at City Hall.

Commission members will vote on whether to revoke a special use permit for Adventure Helicopter Tours, located on Highway 76, across from Ripley’s.

The City’s Planning Department says owners failed to pay their taxes, so a business license was denied, and now the special use permit needs to be dealt with.

HometownDailyNews.com hasn’t been able to make contact with owners of the helicopter tour company.

Did some work for the owner of this establishment to expand their business and never got paid. Figures.
