This shelter has a big job every day because the Humane Society operates as a "no kill" shelter, meaning that no animal is euthanized due to space or time requirements.

The "Furry Friends Food Harvest" is a success!!!

Branson's Hometown Radio Stations thank you for your help with our 1st annual "Furry Friends Food Harvest" to benefit the Animal Shelters in Stone and Taney Counties.

Special thanks to all four Country Mart stores - Branson, Branson West, Hollister and Forsyth; at Petco on Branson Hills Parkway; at Wal-Mart on Highway 76 at Green Mountain Drive and at Harter House, Kimberling City and Hollister for allowing us to collect your donations at their stores.

We still need: dog food, cat food, puppy food, kitten food, dog & cat treats, chew toys, rawhides, dog & cat toys, cat litter, litter boxes, cat beds, collars, leashes, ear wash, cotton balls, Q-tips, non-tip water bowls, dog shampoo, hand sanitizer, laundry soap, dish soap, hand soap, dryer sheets, bleach, trash bags (tall kitchen & heavy duty), old towels, paper towels, spray bottles, brooms, mops, mop heads.

We'd also love to have: 4', 6' and 8' plastic tables, 6-foot tall chain link fencing to create an outdoor run for the animals and stainless steel cages. We'd also make good use of your CASH donations to assist in spay & neuter programs and to help with heartworm testing through "Nebo's Fund" (see below).

Your donations have been (and will be) distributed to the Humane Society of the Tri-Lakes in Reeds Spring, the new Shepherd of the Hills Humane Society in Branson and the Taney County Animal Shelter south of Hollister. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Pet Purchase Posting:

Turkey Creek Farm and Home Supply in Hollister will donate $2.20 from the sale of every bag of "Pro Pack" dog or cat food to the Taney County Animal Shelter and the Humane Society of the Tri-Lakes in Reeds Spring.

Turkey Creek Farm and Home is located on St. James Street between Business Highway 65 and State highway BB next to the bridge in Hollister.

The Humane Society announces "Nebo's Fund", seeking donations to begin the practice of testing for heartworms in dogs and feline leukemia in cats prior to adoption. The fund will also make it possible to treat dogs with heartworm preventative medications.

The Society also seeks ongoing donations to the "Spay and Neuter" fund, helping to control the pet population in Stone County.

	"Flame" got her name because she was rescued by a Firefighter. She's 10-weeks-old and full of energy. Shelter officials say she plays rough, so she needs someone who understands kittens.	"Tom" is a 2-year-old Beagle/Hound-mix. He's a great dog with a great personality!	"Moonie" is six-months-old and a fun little kitten with a sweet disposition.
Meet "Banjo", a year-old Border Collie-mix. Shelter officials say she's sweet, gentle and smart.	Adopted!! Thank you!	Adopted!! Thank you!	Honda is a 7-month-old neutered Boxer/Collie-mix with the most fun personality. He is playful and happy go lucky and ready for a new playmate. Call 272-8113.

"Angel" is described by Shelter officials as a sweet, fun-loving, 2-year-old Beagle/Bassett Hound-mix. She gets along well with other animals and loves people. Adopt her by calling 272-8113. "Dapper" is a six-month-old neutered cat...one of three in his litter. His siblings - Adobe and Jester" also await adoption at the Humane Society. Call 272-8113.
"Dandy" is a beautiful Silver Tabby with a fluffy black tail. He's a year-old, neutered and is quite friendly. Call 272-8113.	"Daisy" is about a year old..a spayed female who's said to love people...very friendly and playful. Call 272-8113.	Meet "Buddie", a 2-year-old spayed female. "Loveable" and "friendly" are the words used by shelter officials. Call 272-8113.	"Baxter" is a 2-year-old neutered male who loves the water and people, too.
Meet "Jester". Just six-months-old and said to be quite friendly and affectionate.	Adopted!! Thank you!	"Alicia" is a very friendly 2-year-old spayed female. Shelter officials think she might be good indoor/outdoor cat once she's familiar with her surroundings.	Adopted!! Thank you!
"Silky" is a "special needs" cat. She sustained an injury to her right eye and has no peripheral vision on that side. She has a very shiny coat and while described as having a great personality, she should not go to a home with other cats.	Adopted!! Thank you!	They call him "Debonhair". As you can see, he likes a good chin rub and loves to be brushed.	"Brownie" is a year-old spayed female. She loves people and is quite friendly.
"Cordiela" is a 6-month-old spayed Hound-mix. They say she's really cute when her ears stand up.	Adopted!! Thank you!	"Mark" is less than a year old. He's sweet and playful, loves people and gets along well with other dogs.	"Fifi" is about a year old. She's friendly and loves to be brushed.
"Jiggs" is a large shiny black cat who loves people.
