We were greeted with a happy and colorful welcome sign in the classroom of Serenity Matney when we brought our Ozark Mountain Bank Teacher of the Month party to her 4th grade at Blue Eye Elementary. Mrs. Matney was selected as our January honoree, from a nomination letter submitted by Floyd and Marlene Hooley, who have mentored in her classroom for the past 4 years. They said, “She is unwavering in her dedication to get to know each student and to meet the learning needs of each child. She is a disciplinarian, but loving in the process.”
Mrs. Matney and her 4th graders enjoyed the Luigi’s Pizza and ice cream dessert from Cold Stone Creamery along with other goodies provided by Harter House. She proudly accepted the beautiful plaque from The Sign Man and she and the class received gifts and certificates from Ozark Mountain Bank, Branson Titanic Museum Attraction, Famous Dave’s BBQ, Cold Stone Creamery and The Track Family Fun Parks.
Those celebrating with Mrs. Matney and her class included: Blue Eye Elementary Principal, Mike Franzen; mentors Floyd and Marlene Hooley; Ozark Mountain Bank’s Roger Frieze, Wilbur and Wayne from Famous Dave’s BBQ, representing the Branson Titanic Museum Attraction, First Class Maid Jaynee and Kristina Hagey; Cold Stone Creamery co-owners Dawn Funderburk andAngie Still; and from Hometown Radio, Lesli Bruce and Janet Ellis.
